What are the relevant rules and best practices of mobile marketing?

1. How has the consumers consented and how should they be made aware that they will receiving commercial information?
The consumer has to give active consent to receive the marketing information. Consent should be collected appropriately to prevent misuse.

The message should, as much as possible, reflect recipients' stated interests. Messages that are sent out should be accessed on its level of relevance and usefulness to the recipient.

3. What is the process to unsubscribe like?
Instructions on how to unsubscribe/opt-out from an alert service should be clearly stated on a mobile Internet site or SMS. This information should be easy to find, uncomplicated and should take immediate effect once it is executed.

All unsolicited mobile advertising should be tagged with and recipients should have the option to opt-out from further communication.

How long does it take to launch?


1. Do I have to wait long before the campaign can be launched?
With all the details and information provided, a mobile campaign can be launched within 5 to 7 working days.

2. How long does it take to create and set up a WAP site?
A basic WAP site generally takes approximately one working week before it is ready for launch. WAP sites that are more complex and that requires testing of added functions may take up to 2 - 2.5 weeks to be completed assuming that all information has been provided by client and information provided is accurate.

3.How long does it take to send SMS blast?
With all the information ready at hand, the network would take approximately 5 minutes to send out 2000 SMS.

4. Help! I don't know how to include all the necessary information in the SMS!

What do you mean by....?


SMS Direct Marketing (DM)?
SMS DM is a direct marketing message sent to consumers via an SMS message.

WAP Site?
This is a scaled down Internet site that can be viewed with a mobile phone.

WAP Push?
The same as an SMS-DM, only that the message is clickable and leads to a WAP site.

Mobile Newsletter?
SMS message with a link sent to your customers. Byclicking the link they go to a WAP site with the latest news and information from your store.

MMS?
Multimedia Message. Can be used instead of an SMS to sent images and animations. However this is still expensive so our recommendation is to use SMS in combination with WAP instead.

Bluetooth advertising?
Location based service that can transmit messages to phones near the sender with the Bluetooth® function switched on. InCent is a Bluetooth® member and executes campaigns according to Bluetooth® guidelines.

WAP-banner?
A WAP-banner is an advertising banner for mobile Internet. Very similar too banner advertising online only executed on mobile Internet.

SMS Gateway?
An SMS Gateway is a technical solution to send SMSes to many recipients at once and at the same time track and measure response.
